About Your Gift
Ways to Give
These are different ways to support our community!
Regular collections
You can give to any of our regular collections using envelopes or online giving. If you use online giving, we encourage use of the recurring giving function.
Here is a list of the ongoing collections:
• Sunday Collection
• Cemetery Fund
• Debt & Maintenance Fund
• Poor & Needy (Social Action) Fund
• School Support Fund
These funds support our parish’s material operations, including our ability to provide a safe and beautiful place for worship, and our ability to offer assistance to our neighbors who are in need.
A biblical standard for giving that you may consider using is the tithe (10%). Holy Scripture promises great blessings to those who give the tithe as an act of faith in God’s ability to provide for their earthly needs.
If you use envelopes or the OSV Hub to make your gift, you will receive an itemized tax statement in the mail. OSV Hub also allows you to access your statement digitally.
Endowments
You can elect to make a lump-sum or recurring large gift to provide long-term support for our parish or school. Lump-sum gifts will be wisely invested in funds that do not support businesses that engage in unethical conduct.
Our parish’s ongoing maintenance has been greatly blessed by endowments people have made over the years, and the wise investment of these endowments. Many projects have been accomplished without the need to ask for money from the parish because these needs had been provided for already.
Memorial gifts
You also have the option of giving a gift in memory of a specific person. Please contact the parish office to discuss your gift. You can reach the parish office by phone at (740) 432–7609, or via e-mail at office@colcatholic.org. Our business hours are usually Monday–Thursday from 9:00am–3:00pm.
IRA Distributions
You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to a qualified charity. Your 401k or similar fund can also be rolled into an IRA (tax-free) to make QCDs. Using QCDs is also a retirement strategy which may help you qualify for certain tax credits and deductions, and possibly lower your Social Security and Medicare taxes.
We encourage you to speak to an accountant to learn more about this giving option.
